Stats

At 2 years old Keegan is 34.5" tall (60%), 25lbs 5.5oz (25%) and has a head circumference of 20.5" (97%). So, just like at birth he is a skinny guy with a big head. :)

At 2 months old Cadence is 22.25" tall (50%), 10lbs 15oz (50%) and has a head circumference of 15.75" (75%). She is a growing machine! Just not hair ... yet.

Here he was a year ago:

SO little!

Keegan is one of the biggest joys of my life. He was the one to make me a mother, and I am so grateful for that. He has taught me so much about who I am and who I want to be. It is so much fun to watch him grow and progress. He is such a funny two year old now. He makes me laugh on a daily basis, and I am always impressed at how quickly he learns things and picks things up on his own. I thought that 9-months, and one year, and 18 months were my favorite developmental stages, but I think that 2 years is a lot of fun too. He is truly turning into a little person with his own personality.
I love you so much Keegan! Keep growing up strong and smart!

Sick kiddos and debating

It's so sad to have sick kids, although they do much better than I do when I am sick. Last week I was the sickie' and then Cadence got sick this weekend, and now Keegan got it yesterday. "It" is RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus). Basically a respiratory virus, it manifests as a cold in toddlers and adults but it can be more dangerous to infants. We are all doing ok though. Cadence sounds like she is a 50 yr old woman who has smoked unfiltered cigarettes most of her life, but she will still smile whenever anybody pays attention to her. Keegan started coughing yesterday and had a low-grade fever today. But after some Tylenol he is almost good as new. Hopefully it will all pass soon!
And now a funny story. Keegan is going to be a debater like is father. As in, "Mom, I'm not arguing with you I'm debating!" We were in the car the other day and he saw a truck with a really long trailer behind it and he said "train!" I told him that it was actually a truck, and he said "no, train!" Again I told him it was a truck, but he wouldn't budge and kept telling me train like I just wasn't understanding him. It was pretty funny. I love that he is talking so much more now.

Cadence's Blessing

Our beautiful little girl was given a name and a blessing today at church. Many of our wonderful friends and family joined us for the event.
Keegan was having such a fun time with all of his buddies around that this is the only picture we got with him.

Great Grandma Huber came out from Minnesota to meet Cadence.
A few of the gentlemen who helped bless Cadence.
"Granny Tosh" (my good friend Daria's mother) made the beautiful dress.
Grandma and Grandpa Porter even took a short hiatus from their mission in Salt Lake to join us for the weekend. It has been so great to see them!

(I can't wait to see these pictures!)

Quilt

This is the finished quilt that Aunt Jess made with the quilt squares that were created at Cadence's baby shower. I LOVE IT.

Sleep (or lack-thereof)

I have to say that last night was the first AWFUL night that we have had since Cadence has been born. We have had some rough nights, but last night was BAD. Cadence started fussing/crying about 7pm last night and didn't stop till after 2am when we finally had the brilliant idea to give her some Tylenol. THEN, Keegan woke up crying at 3:30am and didn't go back to sleep till 4:30ish. Somewhere in that time Cadence woke up to eat, but went back to sleep. Then Cadence woke up to eat again at 6:30am, and woke up Keegan. She went back to sleep but Keegan is up for the day. My amazing, wonderful, caring husband tried to take care of both kids to let me sleep, but when they are up fussing I have a hard time sleeping. Also, when Cadence finally fell asleep at 2, I had my second wind and ended up staring at the clock for an hour! Ugh! So, all-in-all, I think we each got about an hour (maybe two) of sleep. There better be a good nap today!
