We're having a ...

A story:
When I was pregnant with C Matt and I had both agreed on the name Isabelle, but then separately got the impression that this little girl "was not our Isabelle." That's when we started looking at the baby name books again. Since that time I was pretty darn sure that we were going to have another girl. I was so sure of it that when we moved to NY we gave C the bigger room in anticipation of her having to share it. With that story in mind I am excited to announce that we are having a:

The really funny thing is that we talked to C about what the blue balloons mean, that it is definitely a boy and that there is definitely only one baby, but she still insists that there is a little sister for her!! Goofy girl.

With this baby being a boy I'm nervous that Isabelle is still out there. :-)

Girls Week: Breakfast at the Track

Monday morning we joined Bruce & Mary at the racetrack for breakfast. This is a neat experience that I recommend everyone should do, especially if you have little kids. When we actually went and saw the races the kids got bored because there was 30 seconds of excitement and then 20 minutes until the next race. During breakfast the trainers/jockeys are warming up the horses and so they are continually riding back and forth across the track and you get a lot more horse-time. C loved it!

Doesn't she look a little like Megan Jean in this picture?
The view from our table. We did the sit down buffet, but you can also bring your own breakfast and just sit and watch. I think we will do that next time.
C and GrandMary are GREAT buddies.

Bruce is always behind the camera, but I caught one of him!

Girls Week: First Pony Ride

There is a place not too far from our house that has a sign out for $5 pony rides and I have been eying it since we moved here. Our friends were interested in going over there so we did! They had some silly goats and sheep that the girls got to feed.

Then came the pony ride! The horses name was Dewey and C "jumped" right up and rode around the ring! The first time around the ring she was talking the guys ears off and then she just enjoyed it the next few times.
She even gave a wave!
This little girl was in heaven.
Then buddy M got a turn, and at the end they let her little brother M sit on the back for a picture opportunity.

We spent some time playing at their little park before heading home.

These two are SO cute together, they are only 8 days apart and they get along really well.

Girls Week

Matt and K have been off gallivanting in Colorado, so C and I had a "grils" week. We were both looking forward to some quality time together and I'm not so sure what C has thought about it all, but I am exhausted!! We have been super busy, and C has been super clingy. The boys get home tomorrow, and we are both very excited to see them.

Here are a few of the things we did this week (other things deserve their own post).

We had our driveway redone. (Obviously I didn't really have much to do with this one.)
We went with our weekly playgroup to a nearby lake that we have been wanting to check out.
I thought for sure that C would be more interested in the sand, but nope, she wanted to be in the water almost the whole time! She wasn't so sure at first about the fish swimming around her feet, but she ended up loving every minute of it. She can't wait to take the boys back next weekend.
We had her "bwest fwiends" over for a playdate and lunch.
And another "bwest fwiend" and her little bro over for dinner.

County Fair

Back in July we went with our weekly playgroup to the County Fair and we all had a great time.
K really liked the animals.

My favorite thing was the pig races. They were so cute and so quick, except for the fat ones. It all happened so quick and the cheering was so loud that the kids didn't really understand what was going on.

They had this shark display where a guy got in the tank and swam with the sharks. They had a little skit where they were talking about how thick the glass was and that a kid could come up and pound on it and there would be no problems. Well when she pounded on the glass a spout shot water into the audience and they acted like the sharks were going to get out. Well when the water started shooting K and his buddy J were ready to book it out of there! The look on their faces was priceless!

Minnesota Part 2

The second half of the trip we spent with the Hubers. There were a lot of Hubers around since Zack and Jen were having a wedding party on Saturday (the reason for my visit).

The kids had fun with their Great Uncles, who they lovingly called "that guy" the whole time.
Gotta love the Bob-crobatics.

Two other Great Uncles joined us at a big local park, and were even nice enough to chase around the kids a little bit.

The kids would snuggle with anybody who was willing.
We spent lots of time in Great Grandmas pool. This is where I learned to swim too!

At the party there was LOTS of yummy food including gourmet cupcakes made by my fabulous Aunt Mary.
CC was literally the first one on the dance floor.

Yay, a picture of my Grandma!
Awww the lovely couple. Congrats Zack and Jen!
At 9:15 I had to literally pry CC off the dance floor and she wasn't too happy about it. She literally danced all night!
K on the other hand found a buddy and took the glow sticks that I had brought and played light sabers under the tables.
Our last night there everyone was getting good cuddles. Sadly this is the very last time that I saw that iPod that CC is holding. I am not sure what happened to it but no less than 5 adults spent hours looking for it and couldn't find it anywhere. SO sad!!
The next day we had some yummy burgers and milkshakes with some "extended" family and then caught an evening flight home.

The kids did absolutely awesome on the plane. It was late on the way home and I totally expected them to sleep, but they did not. K played with a new set of Legos almost the whole way and CC watched a new princess movie.

It was a great trip and always a good time seeing family!
