Well, we are home and now a family of four!! It's hard to believe that our little Cadence Christine is finally here. We are all doing great, but we all have some adjusting to do.
Here is our journey over the last four days.
The last belly shot.

Cadence's birth story is a little more exciting than expected (just a little). I made it to the day of my scheduled c-section, but I actually went into labor about 3am. I woke up with what I thought were contractions and I just laid there for about an hour timing them and trying to figure out what to do, I didn't even wake Matt (and he's still a little mad about that). The contractions were about 5 minutes apart and had I not been scheduled to go in that morning I would have called the doctor and probably had to go in, but since we were going to the hospital in a few short hours I decided to just go on with my morning and shower. By the time I was out of the shower Matt was already waking up to his alarm and my folks were on their way over to watch Keegan. We left about 10 min early to head to my scheduled c-section.
The nurses were only a little shocked that I hadn't called and told them that I was in labor. The funny thing is, is that I was a little bummed going to bed the night before because I wanted to feel labor a little bit. Be careful what you wish for, right?! Since I was actually in labor I had the option to go for a VBAC. I was only dilated to 3cm when I got there, and at this point there was only an hour to c-section time. I talked to the doctor and we decided that with my history and the approximate large size of the baby, we both felt that a VBAC would not be successful. So I went ahead with the c-section and everything went great.

Cadence Christine Porter was born at 8:21am on December 30th, 2009. She weighted 7lbs 9 oz (smaller than we thought), was 19 3/4 inches long and had a 13 3/4 inch head. She is absloutley perfect in every way.

Keegan was very happy to see me, and we spent some good time cuddling together.

My little model.

We were in the hospital for New Years, so she got dressed up for the occasion.

Rocking the hearing test. I was actually thinking about trying to avoid the pacifier altogether, but she LOVES to suck. She was actually sucking the doctors finger as she was pulled out of me!

First family photo.

Keegan absloutley ADORES Cadence, and would hold her and kiss her all the time, if we let him.

Her favorite place to sleep. In fact, she hates to be put down (I think we are in trouble).

My baldies :)

We are so happy to be home and can't wait to introduce her to everybody!!
