Preschool Graduation

Wow! The school year sure flew by! I can't believe K is done with PreK and is on to Kindergarten next year! He is  more than excited about the adventures ahead of him while I am a little teary eyed that things are going too fast.

He has grown up a lot in the last 9 months!
Tonight they had a graduation ceremony for the PreK graduates. I was a little annoyed that we had to rent a cap and gown and that there was an outrageous number of kids that they were giving diplomas to, but it turned out great. The ceremony was super cute, and relatively organized and it was a fun moving-on celebration for the kiddos. I even got teary eyed here a few times too!

The ceremony was at the High School. Look how many kids there were there, and how awesome the auditorium is!
They sang several songs, but they were all like this:

Keegan getting his diploma from Ms. Brandie.

Ms. Brandie
Ms. Jaqueline
Ms. Kathleen
There were many girls vying for K's attention this year, but this sweet little girl, Georgia, was the one who caught his eye.

K and Molly. (C and I were rooting for Molly)
I sure do love this boy! I can't believe that he is starting Kindergarten next year! How does the time fly so quickly?!?

Who knows if we will be taking HS graduation pictures outside of this building in 13 years?!?

Weekend in Boston

For our 10 year anniversary we took a quick family trip to Boston.

Matt left work a little early on Friday and we got to the hotel in time for the kids to get a swim in before dinner and bed.

Saturday was our sightseeing day. The kids love riding the subway.
We had heard such wonderful things about the Boston Children's Museum that we decided to start there.
It was HUGE!! There was this 4 story climbing structure in the main entrance.
There was SO much to do and we only got a pictures of a few of the things that the kids did. This was a room full of slides/chutes for balls to go down. Very cool.

Of course a bubble room.

A water room.
The absolute coolest thing was the 90 kids visiting from Kyoto, Japan. They are part of an exchange program with students in Boston and there were visiting/entertaining the museum on the day that we were there. I didn't see it happening but C was sitting in the front row and the Japanese girls were waving at her and laughing. And after the performance they came over and felt her blond hair and looked at her big blue eyes. Matt says that blond hair is so rare over there that they are fascinated by it when they see it.
After their performance they had little stations that they had set up for kids to participate in. K and C loved it. And there was still more fawning over my blonde kiddos.
K loves everything that dad does, and so he was in heaven meeting all of these Japanese kids. When we left he was actually in tears because he missed his Japanese buddies.
Seriously adorable! C has not let go over her fan since they gave it to her.

The museum had an actual Japanese house that was brought over and set up inside.
L was actually a pain in the behind. I guess he wasn't comfortable in the stroller because he refused to take a nap in it. So, he was awake the whole day except for the times when Matt and I would give in and carry him until our backs cramped up. It was a little rough for Little L.

It was such a gorgeous day out that I wanted to do some walking so we went down to the touristy area and played in the fountains a little and then got some ice cream and watched a street performer. By then we were all done and ready to go back to the hotel for another swim.
Sunday morning we squeezed in another swim before heading back home. If you ask the kids about the trip they will tell you all about the swimming pool. :-)

It was a great weekend!!

Last Field Trip

For the big end of the school year hurrah we got to go to an amusement park that is for little kids. We all had a BLAST! (sorry that they are all cell pics)
C and Molly were inseparable!
They even had big rides that both of my kids went on!! They weren't scared at all!!
This is C on this one!!
The park is probably 30-plus years old and there are some kinda creepy statues around. My friend nailed it when she said "doesn't it look like it would turn into a horror movie at night?"

L even rode his first carousel.

Family Night at SPAC

This year marks the 150th year of racing in Saratoga Springs, so there are a lot of fun events going on this spring/summer to commemorate the occasion. We went to the family fun night kickoff event.

There were wandering performers, musicians and clowns, there was food and different types of booths. It was a great time.

There were Irish dancers. C loved them, of course.
L was fascinated by this clown.
Buddies.
Om nom nom.
There were 6 free bouncy houses to choose from.
(can you see Matt and L peeking?)
The boys got their pictures taken. L's makes me laugh.

And at the end there were fireworks!! We were right up front, underneath were they were exploding. It was great. L checked them out for a few min and then decided to go to sleep. Funny guy.
