A memory ...

I just remembered something that Keegan did when Cadence was just a few weeks (maybe even days) old. Cadence was starting to fuss, and I told Keegan "hold on, while I go get Cadence a blanket." While I was in the other room, he ran into his room and got his favorite blanket, his "grandma hug," and handed it to me for Cadence to use. It was so sweet, and something I hope never to forget.

Easter Egg Hunt

I'm a little delayed in posting these pictures ... on Saturday we went to our church's Easter Egg Hunt. We realized about 1/2 an hour before we left that house that Keegan might not know what to do, so we hid a few eggs around the house for him to find, and he got the hang of it quickly.
Here is Keegan sitting patiently listening to a story and awaiting instructions. I think he is just so darn cute sitting there with his Star Wars basket.
Like I said he figured it out pretty quickly.

Cadence just hung out.
The best part of Easter egg hunts is the chocolate inside of the eggs!
My pretty girl.
Keegan and one of his good buddies Bridgette.

Cadence didn't like this so much ...
Keegan was very happy with his haul. We will have another family Easter egg hunt on Sunday all for him. Lucky kid!

Sping Snow

Crazy Colorado weather has come through again. Tuesday morning we had beautiful 55 degree weather, and we left the house without coats to do some errands. When we got home in the early afternoon it was just starting to rain. By the time Keegan woke up from his nap (around 3:00) it was just starting to snow. It was just a light snow for a half an hour or so before it turned into a full-on blizzard! It was crazy! Matt left work at his usual time (5:00) and traffic was a mess! It took him an hour and a half to get home, which really isn't that bad, but he was passing dozens of cars that had stalled out. It snowed through the night and we woke up to this:
There was at least a good foot of snow. Look at the fence!!
This one is for you Mom. I'm sure you would rather be here with your snow covered car than in Florida. Right?
I got Keegan a bowl of snow to play with and he found a spoon and decided to start eating it. Pretty funny.
What's wrong with this picture? 70 degrees with snow on the ground? In true Colorado fashion the snow was well on it's way out on Wednesday, and Keegan had a great time splashing in the puddles.

Ouch!

I just have to say that I am so glad that we don't have any family pictures coming up. Poor Keegan has been bumping his head/face on everything lately! Just this evening he excitedly ran to the garage door when he heard Matt coming home. Keegan opened the door and Abby ran right into him pushing him out the door and down 2 stairs onto a raw cement corner. There was so much blood we were afraid that his tooth had gone through his lip! Thankfully not.
Also, you can see in the picture the remnants of a bruise on his forehead. Last weekend he fell three times and hit his head. First, he slipped on something on the hardwood floors and hit the back of his head. Then, he tripped playing outside and got some road rash on his forehead. Then later that same night he fell off his chair and hit his forehead in the exact same spot. All I can say is poor guy! I hope we get past this stage soon.

Visit to Great-Grandma's House

This morning we went to visit Great-Grandma Porter, and to introduce Cadence to her. We had a great time.

Even cousin Porter and cousin Beckett stopped by to see us. It was such a gorgeous day today we spent most of the time outside running around.

Videos

Here is Keegan rocking out to music at the aquarium.

And here is my little talker.

Family Date Night

Friday night we had a family dinner date at the Denver Aquarium. Our table was right up against the huge tank.

There was a HUGE puffer fish that hung out in our corner the whole time.Cadence even enjoyed watching the fish. (Seriously that puffer had to have been bigger than Cadence!)

We were there for the fishes dinner time too, right in front of us! (there is a diver in the middle of all those fish)

Seriously, can you think of a better view as you are eating your shrimp and chicken tenders?

Dress-up

I remember how much fun it was to dress up my dolls when I was a kid, but it is nothing compared to dressing up my little girl on Sunday! Boy I sure had fun this morning!

Dinner has become a bit of a circus, here is Keegan in the center ring balancing his bowl on his head.

At 2 years old Keegan is 34.5" tall (60%), 25lbs 5.5oz (25%) and has a head circumference of 20.5" (97%). So, just like at birth he is a skinny guy with a big head. :)

At 2 months old Cadence is 22.25" tall (50%), 10lbs 15oz (50%) and has a head circumference of 15.75" (75%). She is a growing machine! Just not hair ... yet.

SO little!

Keegan is one of the biggest joys of my life. He was the one to make me a mother, and I am so grateful for that. He has taught me so much about who I am and who I want to be. It is so much fun to watch him grow and progress. He is such a funny two year old now. He makes me laugh on a daily basis, and I am always impressed at how quickly he learns things and picks things up on his own. I thought that 9-months, and one year, and 18 months were my favorite developmental stages, but I think that 2 years is a lot of fun too. He is truly turning into a little person with his own personality.
I love you so much Keegan! Keep growing up strong and smart!
