A Keegan Post

With the plethora of photos and posts about Cadence recently (due to her 1 year birthday) I have been wanting to do a post about Keegan, but for some reason it has been really hard to figure out what to say, and I don't know why. Keegan is growing-up so much. It blows my mind what a "real person" a (almost) three year old is. He has his mind made up about what he likes and doesn't like and he is learning how to vocalize it all. He comes up with the funniest expressions and sentences daily, and I wish I kept a journal to record them all because by the time Matt gets home I forget what he said.
He has an amazing imagination. He is always fighting dragons, "bad guys," robots, etc. with whatever stick-like toy he can find. Every night he has Matt tell him a bedtime story, and most recently he has been dictating the story to Matt. Each story always includes some kind of situation that needs to be solved, Sir Keegan comes to the rescue and then always goes home where King Daddy tells him he did a good job and that it is time to go to bed.
He still loves his tot-school that we are a part of. It was my turn a few weeks ago and my subject was the numbers 6-10. (It's actually really hard to teach numbers 6-10, because you can't neglect numbers 1-5. So really I taught 1-10.) The first day they counted different shapes and glued them onto a paper with boxes for each number. The second day they stamped their hands on paper and I numbered each finger. Below is all but one of the kiddos. They thought the activity was a whole lot more fun that I predicted.
Keegan loves his sister, and she adores him even more. There are many unsolicited hugs and kisses between them each day. Cadence watches everything that he does, and tries to do the same thing. If he sits still long enough, she will venture to give him some cuddles.
I can't say enough how much I love my two little people and how wonderful I think they are.

Snow Day

We got some decent snow today, so we figured we would let Cadence get her first experience with it.

I bundled her up in all the snow gear and she just laid on the floor and kicked her legs. It was funny.
But she got a kick out of it when we were outside.
So cute!
Keegan enjoying it too. Matt built a small sledding hill off of our back deck for Keegan to enjoy. He is such a cautious boy it was the perfect size for him.

Cady's Brithday Party

Yesterday we finally got to celebrate Cady's birthday. We had my folks and a couple friends over for a low-key party.
This pictures is missing a kid, but I love how hard Cadence is laughing in the picture.
Opening presents.
Her first doll that she has actually been interested in, Ladybug Girl!
My friend Daria brought her new baby Joshua, and Keegan was in heaven. He loves babies! (That doesn't mean he is getting another one anytime soon.)
Cady got her own little birthday cake for her to destroy.
She wasn't so sure what to think of it at first ...... but after the first taste ...
... she was all over it!

Happy birthday to my sweet Cady-bug. You bring me so much joy!
