C had a field trip yesterday to a horse farm and it was a 1/2 day for K so he got to come along! It was a cold day, something like a high of 27, but the kids were troopers and had a great time.
K really enjoyed seeing his old teachers, and even had a buddy from school (another brother) to play with.
Matt came up with the idea for us all to be Batman characters, and he even made his own Mr. Freeze costume.
First up was the ward trunk-or-treat.
His costume even had lights on it! He won the prize for best adult costume at the party! Woot woot!
Cutest Robin ever.
Our super family!
Batman and Reepicheep
The kids both had class parties, and they were both at the same time. Matt went to C's party:
And L and I went to K's party:
Then our superheroes suited up again for trick-or-treating.
Everybody had a great time. I think L got twice as much candy as the big kids because everybody thought he was so cute! He would say something that sounded like "trick-or-treat" and hold up his little bucket and they would scoop handfuls of candy into it!
The absolute best way of celebrating fall around here is going to Ellms Family Farms. We have done it every year, sometimes more than once a year, since we have moved here and I love it. (Actually Matt has never been there, and he doesn't realize what he is missing out on!) There is so much to do, and when you get an absolutely gorgeous fall day like we did, you just can't beat it.
The big jumping pillow. Look at that blue sky! It almost looks like Colorado. ;-)
We got to ride on a hayride out to pick our pumpkins. L seriously could have stood here all day just touching the tractor. Kid loves vehicles.
Perfect pumpkins!
Kids got to ride on the Moo-Moo-Choo-Coo. Again, L was in heaven.
A new thing we tried this year was the zip line. C was not going to try it, but she saw her buddies doing it, and then I couldn't get her off it!
Even I got to try it ... :-)
They also just had a little play area with these fun cars.
L would do it all by himself. Climb on at the top, slide down, then push it back into place and go again. I might have to look for one for Christmas.
