Saturday evening was the Christmas party at our church.

We had a great time at the party. They served dinner and dessert, and there was music and stories and just plain fun with friends.

Advent Day 12
We totally slacked today and skipped doing anything. We were going to make Christmas cards, but it just didn't happen. But today is my Dad's birthday, we called and said Happy Birthday to him!! We love you Dad/Grandpa and we can't wait to see you next week!

Advent Day 10 & 11
Picking out our tree this year was not the romantic sleigh ride out into the field to cut down our own tree that it could have been. (They really do that here!) Instead we went to Lowe's and picked out a fake one. There were many reasons for going with a fake one, and we are happy with it.
The next day we decorated the tree and the kids had a GREAT time helping put ornaments on the tree, and I only had to rearrange a few of them when we were done!

Advent Day 9
Our activity on the 9th was to "Go see some fun Christmas lights" which we did, but I forgot my camera!! Argh! It was a local business who puts on an incredible Christmas light display (Mom & Dad, think downtown Honolulu) and on one weekend they have an open house with Santa, carnival rides, horse-drawn carriages, train rides and more! And it is all free! There were a LOT of people, and we only chose one ride to go on because of the long lines, but the kids had fun. We had to take a school bus from a nearby parking lot and the kids thought that was more exciting than the event itself! :-)

Matt also took a much needed vacation day and we took the kids to see "The Muppets." They had a great time, and were well (enough) behaved.
